Son Life Lawn & Landscaping: Good Work With a Bigger Purpose

Son Life is owned by Derrick and Nicole West, a Wildwood couple who are also the lead pastors of Encounter Church on County Road 462. They started the company in 2020.

Since then, Son Life has grown from lawn and landscaping work into a broader property-care business, including the addition of Son Life Turf & Pest.

Son Life works toward being a one-call property-care company. Lawn maintenance and landscaping remain part of the business, along with hardscape work.

The company's newer turf and pest services expand that work into fertilization, weed control and pest protection.

That means the Son Life name now covers more of what happens outside a home than it did when Wildwood Living first wrote about the company in 2025.

The work itself is only part of the Son Life story.

Wildwood Living's 2025 reporting documented a larger mission behind the company: providing meaningful work, mentorship and second chances to people trying to rebuild their lives.

That approach has been closely connected to Derrick and Nicole West's work at Encounter Church, where recovery and restoration are also part of the ministry.

Son Life's expansion into turf and pest services is the clearest sign of where the company is heading.

Instead of calling one company for mowing, another for landscaping and another for fertilization or pest protection, the broader Son Life model is designed to bring more of those services under one local company.

It's a significant change from the lawn-and-landscaping business Wildwood Living originally profiled.

Customer reviews can be useful when comparing contractors, but they should be read alongside the details of your own project.

For any landscaping, hardscape or ongoing property-care work, ask for a written estimate, make sure the scope is clear and confirm which services are included before work begins.

Son Life offers free consultations and estimates for customers considering work.

Call Son Life at 315-836-5228 or visit sonlifelawn.com to request information about current services and a quote.

Because services, coverage areas and availability can change as the company expands, confirm the details of your project directly with Son Life.
